  • Voyages to, from and between EU ports,
  • Fuel consumption and all maritime operational activities resulting in direct greenhouse gas emissions, regardless of vessel type, flag state or operational model, provided they fall under the Company’s control.

  • EU MRV Regulation,
  • EU ETS (Maritime Transport Scope),
  • ISO 14064 Standard,

All emission data are collected, recorded and retained in a manner that is accurate, complete, consistent and verifiable.

  • Technical and operational departments ensure accurate collection of fuel consumption and voyage data.
  • Masters and shipboard personnel are responsible for the timely and accurate recording of daily operational data.

Monitoring, Verification and Reporting

  • Emission monitoring is based on Bunker Delivery Notes (BDN), tank measurements, fuel flow meter data and voyage-related operational records.
  • Data are consolidated annually, subject to internal controls and prepared for verification by accredited independent verifiers.
  • Verified emission reports are submitted to the relevant EU systems within statutory deadlines, and Documents of Compliance (DoC) are obtained for the vessels.

Continuous Improvement and Efficiency

ARES SHIPPING uses emission data not only for regulatory compliance, but also for:

  • Carbon cost management,
  • Operational and energy efficiency improvement,
  • Integration into budgeting, freight policies and operational planning.

Operational improvements, speed optimization, maintenance practices and alternative fuel options are regularly assessed.

ARES SHIPPING adopts a continuous improvement approach, closely monitoring regulatory developments, technical advancements and industry best practices. Relevant personnel receive regular training to enhance awareness, data accuracy and regulatory compliance. This Carbon Emission Policy enters into force upon approval by ARES SHIPPING senior management, is binding for all relevant personnel, and is reviewed and updated as necessary in line with regulatory or operational changes.
