CARGO OPERATION POLICY

ARES Shipping recognizes that safe cargo operations are an integral part of overall operational performance. Therefore, the Company aims to continuously develop its operational standards for loading, stowage, carriage and discharge activities by taking into account the principles of safety, environmental protection and pollution prevention.

All procedures related to safe cargo operations are comprehensively defined within the Company's Safety Management System (SMS) and vessel-type-specific manuals. In order to ensure full compliance with these procedures, ARES Shipping is guided by the following key objectives:

  • Ensuring safe cargo handling practices and secure working conditions during all cargo operations,
  • Effectively protecting personnel, vessels and the environment against all identified risks,
  • Enhancing the competence of shore-based and shipboard personnel in responding to safety- and environmental-protection-related emergencies,
  • Maintaining full compliance with all applicable national and international regulations, Flag State requirements, mainline rules and recognized industry best practices,
  • Ensuring careful, controlled and diligent execution of all processes from cargo loading to final discharge,
  • Raising awareness among personnel regarding cargo-related hazards that may pose risks to the vessel, the environment or individuals,
  • Ensuring that personnel receive appropriate training and that suitable equipment is used in accordance with the nature of the cargo being carried.
